Valentine’s Day: Japanese Sushi Maki Rolls

We’ll have fun creating this art of rolling on the Valentine’s Day at home. We will go over step-by-step from preparing ingredients and cooking each sushi component including sushi rice and Japanese egg roll (tamago). While we roll out 5 styles of sushi maki rolls, we’ll talk about the history and culture behind this long Japanese tradition. You’ll also learn how to properly cut and serve each style of maki sushi.

We will follow the steps below:

– Cook sushi rice from scratch and season sushi rice

– Make Japanese egg roll (tamago)

– Make 5 styles of maki: Futomaki, Spicy Salmon Maki, Rainbow Roll Maki, Temaki (Hand-Roll Cone Maki), Your Owned Creative Maki

– The leftover ingredients will be used in making Chirashi Sushi Bowl.

You will receive the ingredient list with suggestions for fillings in the registration confirmation email. Please scroll down to the bottom of the email to click the link.
